I've just discovered this and installed on a 2GB IDE DOM and it's running really well, is the project still alive and kicking as the board seems quiet? Out of all the micr distributions this seems to work the best on my hardware, it would be a shame if it's stalled.

There are a few shortcuts in ROXTerm that conflict with the default Emacs bindings for bash:

ALT-F
Intended action: Move forward one word
Instead: Opens "File" drop-down menu

ALT-B
Intended action: Move backward one word
Instead: Opens "Tabs" drop-down menu

ALT-P
Intended action: Search backward (non-incremental)
Instead: Opens "Preferences" drop-down menu

It isn't a huge problem. Most people don't even know about these bindings. Personally, it really gets on my nerves since I use these shortcuts a lot.

I'm running Spri from a Live CD, its good, very fast, having a few problems trying to log into my secured wireless network, but have no problems when the network is unsecured.

Very nice, will check it out a bit more over the next few days.

Hi.
I like iceWM, so like Spri; furthermore, it has nice artwork.

I have been looking how you did it, and find that you have a package in your repo called 'icecc', who aparently comes from a rpm package through alien.
This conflicts with the icecc package already existing in Ubuntu universe.
I don't know how apt manages this conflict, but think a rename of the offending package will be good.

Hello. Found some errors while running the latest live cd:

1. Connected wirelessly (intel wireless pro) but the network manager tray icon showed that I was not connected.

2. When launching the run app from the main menu, the run window was not render correctly. (The win + space run dialog did display correctly and was readable.)

3. I think Midori crashed once.

4. I thought I read that some bookmarks would be included in Midori, but I couldn't find any.

5. After choosing shutdown from slim the system shutdown and the livecd ejected, but I had to manually turn off the laptop (toshiba satellite).

BTW: You may want to edit icewm's preferences file to allow users to shutdown and reboot from the logout menu.

I generally prefer not to have any wallpapers.

Its a luxury I find hard to justify on the low resource machines I use.

I mean, windows usually cover up the desktop except for the first few seconds after bootup or right before shutting down anyway.

While trying out the Spri live cd, I became especially eager to disable PCManFM's control of the desktop/wallpaper: there was a bit of a lag in between the switch from console to IceWM during which a solid darkish-blue background was displayed which I found particularily attractive.

Anybody else notice this or know what I'm talking about?

If necessary, I can provide a screenshot.

I'd like to know what hex colour code corresponds to this shade of blue.

In most Openbox setups, the default background colour value is stored in '/etc/xdg/openbox/autostart.sh' but similar info cannot be had at this location in Spri.

I'm not very familiar with IceWM (like Fluxbox, the taskbar's a turn off) and don't know where this value would be kept.

Anyone? Possibly Spri's originator? How about it Mr. Briggs?

I have Spri installed on an old machine that I keep running just for old DOS programs. It is a 475 Mhz AMD K6-2 with 384 meg of ram.

When installing Spri I had to use the network installer, the live CD gave a message that the BIOS was to old and hung. (No problem)

From the left column of pcmanfm I can mount a USB drive but it will not mount the DOS partition on the hard drive.

This is not workable for me because the only reason I need another operating system on the machine is to move files into the DOS partition from the network.

I have Spri installed on an Asus EeePC that I mentioned in another message. It is also installed on an Intel dual core Atom Mini-ITX board (D945GCLF2) and running great.

I have Spri installed on an Asus EeePC 701 4g, it is an excellent operating system for this machine. On rare occasions it boots up and the sound doesn't work. There is no sound icon in the system tray. A re-boot fixes the problem.

This occurs with the 2.6.28-15 and 2.6.28-16 kernels as well as the 2.6.28.12-netbook-eeepc kernel from http://array.org.

I tried re-booting for hours to find a pattern, but I did not see one.

In most of the other Linux distros that I use (Puppy, Xubuntu), theres a firewall option, Spri doesn't have one, or one that I can find.

I always run a firewall when running other Linux distros, even tho some people reckon theres no need.

Is there a firewall option for Spri?
