I was thinking it would be a nice idea to include mpd along with a frong end like ario, as both of them are very light.

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
mpd 18349 2.1 0.1 226040 7644 ? SLsl 19:41 0:09 /usr/bin/mpd /etc/mpd.conf
mark 5104 0.2 0.5 450024 20876 ? S 19:35 0:01 ario

if you just have mpd set so it uses the $home/music as the music folder by default, and include instructions for people to change the config file on the website.

What is the install size of MPD including dependencies? Gejengel (current music player) is only 6mb including dependencies. If mpd + front end is less than that, I'll happily replace gejengel, as I'm not convinced about its future development at the moment.

i just installed mpd on my laptop (its running arch, so will prob be a bit different) to check and it says 4.39mb for mpd , and 2mb for ario.

edit: just checked. mpd and ario will take up 7mb when installed on spri

BTW My personal favorite is gmusicbrowser. I just don't know if it's quite light enough for spri.
